We hope that those who intended to sit in I’tikāf were successful in doing so, and that Allah accepts their prayers and rewards them for their effort.
Please continue to remember us in your prayers and dua’as and try to continue any good practices you have inculcated during the month of Ramadan!

We just wanted to wish everyone a heartfelt Ramadan Kareem! We hope you are able to derive maximum benefit from the most blessed month in Islam. Please engage in prayer, recitation of the Holy Qur’an, remembrance of Allah, and abstinence from wrongdoing in order to make the most of this month, and remember we may not be around for another Ramadan, so don’t waste this opportunity!
In our previous post, we stated from the week starting 17th of August 2009, we will have daily posts of Ramadan nasheeds. Unfortunately this has not materialized due to unforeseen community projects that popped up during that period that took up all of our time. Then once Ramadan started we had other engagements, so we could not attend to the site properly, but Alhamdulillah, we have some time now so we will try to make amends InshAllah.

We are now accepting requests for nasheeds about Ramadan. So please feel free to request as many as you like HERE on the forum.
If you have ramadan nasheeds that you would like to see on the site share them HERE.
Starting next week (August 17th, 2009), we will be dedicating 7 days to daily posts of Ramadan nasheeds, so get the requests in quick so we can prepare!
NasheedsNow.com Dressed Up for Ramadan!

If you visit the site regularly, you will know that the colours and design are looking a little different. Well, NasheedsNow has been “dressed up” in preparation for Ramadhan and Eid 
. If you liked the original design, don’t worry, things will revert back to normal after the blessed month ends.
We have updated the “Featured Posts” on the homepage, and will do so regularly from now on. Please note, on the homepage, if a post is in the “Featured” section on the left, it will not appear in the “Recently Added” section on the right, so please keep an eye out on both sides of the homepage from now on 
Also, I just wanted to add a big JazakAllah to all of you who have registered, and rate the posts (give it stars), comment on the posts and in the forum, and leave messages in the chatbox. You make this site what it is, mashAllah. We really appreciate your activity…it livens things up!
As most of you know, Ramadan will commence in just over two weeks InshAllah. Starting from the 15th of August 2009, NasheedsNow.com will dedicate the entire week to nasheeds/naats about the Holy month. If you have any suggestions (please be specific), leave them in the Request Section on the forums, so we can prepare the material, and possibly put them up.
If you would like to directly submit nasheeds you would like to see on this site please follow these instructions:

1) Upload the track to an external file sharing service such as http://www.mediafire.com. Once the file uploaded you will be provided with a download link, copy that link.
2) Come back to NasheedsNow.com, log in, and click the “Submit Media” button on the top of your screen, this will take you to the posting area.
3) Enter the title of your post in the text area at the top. In the text area below, write a few lines about the track, and paste the download link.
4) Select the appropriate Categories, and Tags on the right hand side of the screen.
5) Once you are happy with your post, click the “Submit for Review” button in the upper right hand side of the screen (the blue button). Done!
Just one last request from us…if anything is broken, or not working, please inform us! I have come across a couple of broken download links, registration errors, and other minor problems in the past that none of our users had pointed out, which meant that many new users were missing out. Sometimes these things slip under the radar, so if something isn’t functioning as it should, it is probably because we don’t know about it. So do inform us. JazakAllah Khair.

Sorry if you’ve been seeing any errors lately. We just had a server upgrade, as well as some other issues, but they should be sorted out now (almost).
There will be new nasheeds posted Friday night GMT (UK time) InshAllah, so look out for that!

Alhamdulillah, the moment has come! After many unexpected hurdles and hours of hard work, by the grace of Almighty Allah, NasheedsNow.com Version 2.0 is now officially online! May He grant progress to this site and enable the spread of His message and our beloved Prophet’s(saw) teachings through Islamic Arts. I won’t bore you any further so if you want to read about the features that have been added since the previous version just read my last post.
I am so sorry for all the downtime, delays and for bearing with me. May Allah reward you for that. I hope the final outcome was worth the wait.
(Oh btw, if you are using an, old browser such as Internet Explorer 6, it would be beneficial for you to upgrade to the latest version, or download Mozilla Firefox, so the site loads faster and looks better)
NasheedsNow.com Version 2.0 – Almost there…

If you have been visiting the site for a while (or even since it first started) you will have noticed that the current design is fundamentally different to the original. It was redesigned some time near the end of May. With the current design I hoped to introduce new features, and call it NasheedsNow.com Version 2.0, but for some reason I still felt unhappy after spending hours working on it and thought about looking at other designs. With Allah’s grace I discovered a few other excellent theme frameworks to work with and I finally settled on one of them which will now be the official NasheedsNow.com Version 2.0. So I will call the current site design NasheedsNow.com Version 1.1. To recap the version histories, there have been:
NasheedsNow.com Version 0.1 – unlikely any of you have seen it
NasheedsNow.com Version 1.0
NasheedsNow.com Version 1.1 – current version
NasheedsNow.com Version 2.0 – coming soon
Before launching the new design I hoped to post a few nasheeds so that you brothers and sisters could listen to those while I worked on the redesign, but for reasons that are partially my fault (I think lol) I ran into some major problems, and parts of this site broke, which took a way a substantial amount of time from me. This has slowed down progress on Version 2.0. Alhamdulillah I’ve fixed most of the problems but there are a couple more that need to be ironed out.
So what will you see in Version 2.0?
- complete redesign of site layout, navigation and colours, with emphasis on a much cleaner, simple, eye-catching look, and easy navigation
- a new home page layout that allows you to quickly glance through a dozen of our featured posts, and 10 recently added posts – if you visit the site after a long period of time it will be easier for you to catch up
- expansion of content to include the full scope of Islamic Art including: Qur’anic Recitation, Graphics, Paintings, Calligraphy, Film, etc.
- direct downloads will be back, as will a full page dedicated to the chatbox/shoutbox
- while you are browsing the posts, the category(ies) that you are active on will now be highlighted in the category menu bar
- this site is very much a social site for nasheeds, so greater emphasis will be placed on post comments, by giving the content of the post and comments equal halves of screen real estate in single-post view
- introduction of an all-in-one download page containing every single download available on this site in a neat organized searchable database (for members-only)
- members will now be allowed to post their own nasheeds to the main site and moderators/authors/premium members will even be given the option of uploading directly to the site, if they are not comfortable with using external services. This means that there will be many more posts and posting will be much more regular!
- moderators will be given administrative responsiblities such as policing the forums, chatbox and moderating comments
- there will now be one global horizontal login bar at the top of the site
- and many other features that will be added eventually…
Some features such as the download page, and horizontal login bar have recently been added to the current design for testing purpose but these will be finalized in Version 2.0.
Insha Allah, I expect Version 2.0 to be launched in 16 hours if all goes well.

Alhamdulillah, I’m finished with assessments and I’m back! Yes I’ve neglected updating nasheeds on this site, but I am always working on the site behind the scenes, and InshAllah there will be new features coming very soon. I will make up for the long delay between posts by posting a massive number of nasheeds for you!

Change in posting plans for Holy Qur’an with English Translation

In my previous post I stated that I would post a 31 CD set of the Holy Qur’an recited by Saud Al-Shuraim, and Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais and translated by Aslam Athar over a period of 31 days. However I have had a change heart and decided to post the whole set in one go. You can find it here:
I have changed my mind because I plan on posting more versions of Holy Qur’an recitation, and I thought navigating through a bunch of posts would be confusing.

Going away for Easter Weekend

Salaam to all!
Just letting you know I will be going away for the Easter Weekend so there will be no updates until Sunday. I’ve had major internet and computer problems over the last two days, so I apologize for not updating…I do have plenty of nice nasheeds in stock that I’ve been itching to get out to you, but they will have to wait now. Watch out for them in the coming days.
While I am away please consider registering, so you recieve email notifications when I post new material, and so you continue to have access so site features such as forums and downloads, which will be closing to guest users in the near future
